If you want a simple formulas for search success that really works, you’ve got to keep on top of your content.

Developing a solid web presence that receives top rankings with Google doesn’t take that long if you will only commit to supplying your readers with high quality content. According to recent statistics, most of your web/blogging time should be dedicated to original, relevant content.

So, what is high quality content anyway? Depending on the subject matter of your blog, high quality content can be defined in a variety of ways. Some examples include:

Quirky, edgy and opinionated: This approach works well for review sites, gossip or journalistic topics and even non-profit and awareness sites.

Intelligent with valuable, cutting edge information: Perfect for medical, vitamin and holistic healing sites. Readers want information that is the result of well researched information by reliable and respected sources.

Tutorials: Tutorials are valuable for virtually any topic. Whether you are teaching your readers how to install a certain theme onto their WordPress blog or how to plan out quick meals so you have more time for your family and business success, tutorials are an excellent way to add value to your reader’s lives and quality content to your site.

High quality content is basically anything that is out-of-the-ordinary or unusual. You should strive to stay away from the same old regurgitated sludge found all over the web. Use your unique skills to breathe life into your website. Once you develop the flavor of your site, you’ll have one great idea after another that will play off of each other.

So, first and foremost… Content is King. Solid, intelligent and informative articles sprinkled with your own personality. That’s what will develop loyal readership.

Content is first. Once you have that, the SEO or search engine optimization part is easy. Write the article first, with your personal flair. An engaging and intelligent article is by far the most important part of the Google ranking formula. After the article is written, read it again and decide what questions it answers. This will give you a solid idea of what keywords to incorporate into your content. For example, the article you are reading right now is about:

  • The importance of quality content when looking to build a large following of readers
  • How to end up on the front page of Google rankings by using quality content

After reading over my completed article, I realize that individuals searching for this type of information would most likely perform searches that may include: how to get higher Google rankings, how to write articles or how to blog for SEO.

Now, backtrack through your article and incorporate those phrases into the writing. You’ll be surprised how easy it is. Never force a phrase into an article though. The sentence should flow fluidly and naturally. Once you’ve completed this task, you’ve got a superb piece of content marketing ready for the world to see.

Content first, key words second equals your formula for higher Google rankings.

Nice post. I liked the breakdown of writing styles by readership. You wrote, “Never force a phrase into an article…” I like to save those for the title and/or summary.
